GA4 Audit (the Google Sheets Add-on) Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the GA4 Audit Tool (“the Add-on”, “we”, “our”) handles your information when you use our Google Sheets add-on.

By using the Add-on, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Information We Access

The Add-on accesses only the minimum data required to function:

a. Google Sheets

• Purpose: To read and write audit results within the active spreadsheet
• Scope: Only the spreadsheet in which the add-on is used

b. Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

• Purpose: To run audits and checks based on your GA4 property data
• Scope: Read-only access to reporting and configuration data (e.g., event names, dimensions, metrics, key events)

2. How We Use Your Data

The Add-on uses your data only locally, within the context of the spreadsheet and the current user’s Google account. We do not:

• Store any data on external servers
• Transmit your data to third parties
• Share your data for advertising or marketing purposes

All processing occurs securely through Google Apps Script within your own Google account environment.

3. Data Retention

The Add-on does not persist any user data beyond what is stored in the Google Sheet you’re working with. Any audit results are retained only as long as they remain in the spreadsheet.

You can delete this data at any time by removing sheets or uninstalling the Add-on.

4. Email and Notification Usage

If you configure email alerts for anomaly monitoring, the Add-on may:

• Send you emails using your configured alert address
• Include GA4 event summary data within those emails

These emails are sent using built-in Google services and never transmitted to third parties.

5. User Control

You remain in full control of your data. You can:

• Modify or delete the spreadsheet content at any time
• Uninstall the Add-on from Google Sheets
• Revoke API access through your Google Account Permissions

6. Third-party APIs

The Add-on may use the following Google APIs:

• Google Analytics Admin API: To retrieve configuration metadata
• Google Analytics Data API: To access aggregated event data
• Google Sheets API: For reading/writing audit results

These APIs are accessed in accordance with Google’s API Services User Data Policy.

7. Children’s Privacy

This Add-on is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date”.
